Objectif

Audience to effective participate in lecture need to know what is portfolio management and what is PMO. Presentation will focus on selected lesson learned and is dedicated to persons interested in implementation new changes in the organization in project and portfolio management area.

Learning Objectives is to present:
1. Priority of portfolio management in nowadays in each organization
2. How to implement portfolio management in companies, what pitfalls you shouldn't do.
3. To present approach Portfolio Management First that helps organization in faster and more effective implementation of PPPM in the companies.

Paper Description
Headache for many organizations is to build a project management from a single department point of view. Companies also face the challenge of designing different levels of maturity in many units. In this case, how the organization wanting to manage projects on the scale of the whole company should look like? What role the project management office should take and where they should be placed? How to manage a project portfolio? And finally, how to build a culture with different perceptions of the projects by the Project Manager from business and Project Manager from IT? Answer to these questions will be presented on the basis of case studies from different companies including the financial, telecommunications, public and IT sector. Maciej Bodych will present why portfolio management should be implement first in the organization and what are best practices and pitfalls of implementation organizational changes in area of project and portfolio management area.

 Bio
Maciej Bodych is an expert in PMO, project and project portfolio management. He led IT and consulting projects in project management and project portfolio management, project office implementation and organizational maturity model assessment (including OPM3® and CMMI models). Trainer of mentioned subjects. Since many years experienced specialist in PPM system implementation.

In 2007-2010 worked as a Project Portfolio Manager at Raiffeisen Bank Poland, where he was responsible for implementation and management of the Bank's project portfolio, coaching and mentoring project managers; implementing project management methodologies.

Since 2003 associated with the Project Management Institute (PMI®), where he was, President of the Polish Chapter and the Chairman of the Audit Committee. Since 01.01.2011 has worked as PMI mentor responsible for Eastern Europe.

He is a graduate of the Warsaw University of Technology (major computer software & hardware); a graduate of the Warsaw School of Economics - Study in Management. Furthermore he completed a two-year Executive MBA studies.

Since 2005, Maciej is a certified PMP® Project Manager. He also has certifications in field of quality (Six Sigma Green Belt and BlackBelt, ISO), software engineering (RUP, testing) and IT tools (IBM Rational, MS Project). In 2014 he obtained Portfolio Management Professional certification and Agile Certified Practitioner title.

As an experienced trainer and consultant conducted training courses in project management, project management in iterative development process, project portfolio management (including projects management office), and PMP® Prep, in which he adopts various innovative methods of teaching. Moreover, he is a lecturer at the Kozminski University, Executive MBA studies "IT Project Portfolio Management” and the speaker at numerous branch conferences and seminars, both domestic and foreign such as PMI® Global Congress, Project Management Institute, PMDays, Institute for International Research, GigaCon. He provided training, consulting services and lectures in USA, UK, France, Denmark, Switzerland, Germany, Ukraine and Poland.

He is an author of many articles in the field of project management and co-author of book: “PMO. Practice of implementation project and portfolio management in an organization” which describes the experiences with the implementation of the PMO and portfolio management in Polish organizations.

The founder and CEO of training and consulting company WHITECOM Project Experience which specializes in the implementation of customized, integrated services in the field of project management and project portfolio (PMI®).
